Smart Observer is a reading site. It has no accounts, forms, comments or newsletters, so we do not ask you for personal information.

Who is responsible

Smart Observer is published by MEDIA MONZA LIMITED, company number 16337733, whose registered office is Room 73, The Mansion House Wrest Park, Silsoe, Bedford, England, MK45 4HR. MEDIA MONZA LIMITED is responsible for the way personal information is handled on this site.

What we collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or payment details on this site, and we do not run analytics, advertising pixels or tag managers. If you write to us by post, we will use the details in your letter to read and respond to it.

Technical data

Like any website, the servers that deliver these pages may keep standard technical logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These logs are used to keep the site secure and working, and are held by the hosting provider.

Third-party resources

To display a page, your browser also loads typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) and a small script from the unpkg content delivery network (unpkg.com). Those services receive your IP address and basic browser information when the files are requested, and they handle that information under their own policies.

Links to providers

Our articles link to the sign-up pages of third-party providers such as UserTesting. When you follow a link you leave this site. The provider then collects whatever information you give it, under its own privacy policy, and we have no access to it. The link address carries campaign information so the provider can tell that the visit came from our article.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to the way we use it. To do so, write to the registered office address above or use the details on the contact page. If you are unhappy with our answer, you may also complain to your local data protection or privacy authority.

How long we keep information

We keep correspondence only for as long as we need it to deal with your request and to meet our legal obligations, and then delete it.

Cookies

Our approach to cookies is described on the cookies page.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
