Bad news

My final year of high school starts from tomorrow. I certainly have no intention of being NEET for the rest of my life, so I’ll be focusing on trying to get into a decent course in uni. My HSC exams are a mere 9 months away, and it seems inevitable that progress will be taking a big hit. I realise that having two projects running at once isn’t a good idea. However, I’ll try to translate a few lines at the very least each day. I’ve figured that prolonged inactivity only promotes further lethargy and procrastination, so keeping a constant workflow running is the key to keeping a project alive. Some progress is always better than being stalled, am I right?

I thought that I’d get the message out there for those who are actually following us. For those who don’t, then I suppose nothing of value was lost. Regarding when patches will be released:

Hoshimemo: Pretty much whenever editing catches up. [There are no plans to release an edited prologue patch by itself.] How much of the game will this new projected patch translate? Let’s just say that it’ll be called the Cirno Patch.

The ⑨ Project: I actually have no idea. We’ve been C&Ded by Favorite already, so we certainly don’t want to get C&Ded again if we announce the title too early (and releasing partials essentially does that). There are always bitches who like to report us in- which is what I assumed to have happened last year with Hoshimemo.

This will probably be the last post for a long time, as there’s nothing really noteworthy on the horizon. I check our email once a day, though I haven’t received many emails so far… Progress for Hoshimemo and The ⑨ Project can be found on the the Progress tab and the The ⑨ Project tab respectively, and will continue to be updated at regular intervals.

Final year, eh? Treasure the last days of your school life. Those nine months might seem like a long stretch of time, but believe you me, it’ll be over before you know it.

Also, good work on the progress of Hoshimemo, it seems to be going along at a steady pace. Translating can be tedious work at times – keep the wheel rolling, but don’t wear yourself out working on it as well. I’m helluva glad that I’ve never had to translate a language as hellishly complex as Japanese.

Lastly – Gong Xi Fa Cai! I may be a failure of a Chinese (hell, I'm fluent in 3 languages, and Chinese ain't even one of 'em) but even I can understand the importance of this festive season. Its a time to eat, drink, meet up with old friends and family (and gamble with them). So, to everybody out there, regardless of your race – have a good one!

HSC’s a pain, and apparently the semesterly exams in Uni is a lot harder than the HSC if you’re intending to do well in it. Good luck, and hopefully you get into the top two Uni’s in Sydney, or the top Uni in Melbourne, they’re the one’s to aim for unless you’re planning to go overseas to study.

So you’re a high school student translating eroge. That’s a lot more than I can say for myself, keep up the good work.
